EPA Tutors’ progress was featured on Palo Alto Online’s “Around Town: At your service” column. EPA Tutors appreciates all the help we can get with recruiting new tutors!

Nightmare On Vote Street
EPA Tutors stopped by East Palo Alto’s Bloomhouse to run a booth at the Nightmare On Vote event! It was great to see close to 400 kids, parents, and even EPA politicians, as we passed candy out after math problems were solved. It’s always great to engage with the community through educational methods. Huge shoutout to Rotary and Maria for helping set our booth up 🎃

In just under a month, we’ve been able to reach the major milestone of $1,000! (3 weeks of weekend fundraisers) Thanks to all the volunteers supporting our bake sales at Magical Bridge and Cal Ave, as well as the 200+ patrons who have supported our cause of supporting EPA students’ quality of learning. See everyone at our next fundraiser this Saturday at Magical Bridge!

Bake Sale at Cal Ave Farmer's Market and Magical Bridge
Bake sales are a routine now for EPA Tutors, as we made our way to Cal Ave's Farmer Market early on September 22, setting up our table brimmed with chocolate chip cookies, pecan brownies, chocolate brownies, and ice cold lemonade. It was electrifying chatting with all the people strolling along the market - many had connections to education and EPA! Thanks everyone who gave us a donation, we were able to raise just under $450 in less than 4 hours!

Bake Sale at Magical Bridge Playground
Our latest in-person fundraiser at Magical Bridge Playground on September 14 was nothing short of a success. Thanks to our 10+ student volunteers, we were able to raise over $300 in just over 4 hours, selling baked goods like brownies (pecan was a hit) and cookies! Shout out to all the parents and kids at Magical Bridge that made this event so fun!

Lunch With Ravenswood
Our latest meet-and-greet event on June 6th featured three things: Our team of tutors, our beloved students, and Panda Express. The event, which was intended to nurture bonding and create open communication, turned out to be a delightful success. Aside from the delight of orange chicken, which was a classroom favorite, tutors and students enjoyed conversation outside of the realm of education. Activities such as team building, icebreakers, and introductions were all held. Conversations ranged from favorite movies and TV shows to some extremely unique would-you-rather answers. Everyone left lunch that day with a newfound sense of relationship, transforming student-tutor interactions into friendly relationships of camaraderie.
